Journalism, like every other profession, is usually guided by a set of laws and ethics for an enhanced practice. This article examines the ethical and legal framework governing journalism practice in Nigeria. The ethical principles of journalism practice are discussed side-by-side the legal bases of the profession. The article observes that at various times, journalists are usually faced with some dilemmas that hinge on law and ethics. The article therefore provides the means of escape by emphasizing the need for strict compliance to the ethics and laws of the profession.
