Abstract
The relationship between internet and newspapers have attracted the attention of many media researchers. Most of the researches however, neglected a vital component of newspaper production, which is the physical distribution channels. This paper investigated how the advent of the internet affected newspaper street vending in a cosmopolitan area of Kaduna State, northern Nigeria. Interviews with some newspaper vendors to elicit response on the changes brought to their business by internet were conducted in the study area. In addition, a survey of newspaper readers was also conducted to ascertain how internet affect readers’ access to newspapers. The paper found that, despite advent of internet, majority of the newspaper audience preferred paper version of the newspaper, though the newspaper vendors reported sharp decline in newspaper sales.
